Kiwi families have the chance to win free cord blood banking for their babies this month – thanks to a special promotion celebrating the 7th anniversary of Frances Everall’s life saving cord blood re-infusion.
Diagnosed with a stage 4 cancer when she was only 4, Frances’ outlook was very grim. But thank to the foresight of her parents, who banked her cord blood when she was born, she survived the intense cancer treatment and is thriving today.
Treated in Auckland at Starship hospital, four year old Frances was the first CordBank child to be treated with her own stored cord blood, which was infused on 17 September 2007.
Only four weeks later she was released from hospital and, one month later, the family celebrated a birthday they didn’t expect to see.
So to celebrate Frances survival, expectant families who register with CordBank by 12 midnight on 30 September 2014, will go into the draw to win their registration, processing and 1st years storage for free.
