The aim of the board is to provide expert scientific and medical information, guidance and opinion to ensure CordBank’s service remains at the cutting edge of stem cell medicine. It is our intention that recognised national and international specialists from the relevant fields of medicine will be added to the Board.

Prof Shaw DSc(Otago), MD, FRACS, MB ChB Otago (with distinction Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics & Psychiatry), B Med Science Otago is one of New Zealand’s leading academic surgeons. Prof Shaw’s impeccable research credentials coupled with his interest in general medical science brings invaluable knowledge and expertise to CordBank. He is one of only three New Zealanders to be appointed a member of the most prestigious surgery society in the world, the James IV Association of Surgeons. His knowledge of rigorous scientific research provides the board with expert advice on reported advances in the area of stem cell research.
