Everything you need for the collection process
Once you register with CordBank, your CordBank Collection Kit is couriered to you for use at your baby’s birth.
Your kit includes all the items your midwife or doctor needs to collect your baby’s umbilical cord blood at your baby’s birth. As many of these items are sterile, it’s important that the kit remains sealed until your doctor or midwife opens it at your baby’s delivery.
The collection box has been designed to comply with International Aviation Transport Authority (IATA) standards for the air and road transport of blood products.
Your midwife or doctor has access to a 24 hour medical support hot line if they have any questions.
CordBank requires all doctors and midwives who collect cord blood to have completed training in the collection process.
This training is provided free of charge.
