The launch of our new online training programme has seen a big increase in the number of midwives who are now licensed to collect cord blood for local families. Midwives now feature in the top ten most active collectors of cord blood – making the service even more accessible nationwide. Families have told us that they look for a midwife who is trained in cord blood collection – as they see it as an important part of their birth plan. A full list of trained midwives will be added to the CordBank site later this year. In the meantime expectant parents can contact Kylie at CordBank customer service at info@cordbank.co.nz to make sure that their midwife or doctor is trained.
